Commentary

As Ford introduced the Mustang in the mid-1960s, the Falcon began to fall out of favor as the light, quick, and sporty car it was intended to be. As such, demand dropped and so did perceived value. It is for these reasons that so many Falcons of this era have been heavily modified with outlandish engines and even modern custom stereo systems. Of the surviving 2nd generation (1964 - 1965) Falcon Sprint Convertibles, it is truly difficult to find one as original as the beauty offered here. When you do, they are very often powered by the anemic 200-cu.in. inline 6-cylinder or are mated to the humdrum and undesirable Ford-o-matic 2-speed automatic transmission.

The Falcon featured here is that rare combination of original factory equipment, the best and most desirable configuration of engine/transmission/interior, and mid-60s American top-down motoring excitement all maintained in near-mint condition. This vehicle is a survivor that begs to be simultaneously admired, and exercised on the open road.
